Rose Beads Custom Made From Your own Keepsake Flowers, jewelry and rosaries

Flower Beads

The tradition of using rose petals and forming them into rosary beads dates back several centuries to Medieval Europe where it was initiated and perfected in the monasteries of France, Italy and Spain.  In keeping with the traditions of the past, I still individually hand roll each bead made from the flower petals you provide from your own special occasion.  Because each bead is hand rolled they will not be perfectly round and may vary slightly in size.  Every bead will be unique, and varioaton is expected.  I work with fresh flowers as well as dried flowers - even those that have turned brown.  Though the original technique has been passed down within my family from one generation to the next, I have combined today's new products and advanced technologies with the old techniques to develop more durable, more colorful, and more beautiful beads, ones that are lovely enough to fashion into unique pieces of jewelry.  All chains and caps are high quality sterling silver.  The crystals are made by Swarovski Crystal Works of Watten, Austria.  The specialized result is truly a one-of-a-kind memorable heirloom.  The perfect way to preserve the memory of a special person or moment in time.

Colors

Every effort is made to provide the color of your choice.  However, I do work under certain constraints.  For example, changes to the original color naturally occur as I add ingredients necessary to form a durable bead.  As a result, I like to add pigments to the mixture to help match the colors requested as closely as possible.  Though I can make a beautiful pearly white, I am unable to produce  a 100% pure white.  You can base your color choice on the following criteria.  If your flowers are dark brown or dark shades of red, you can choose any deep color.  I can enhance or mask the color with such shades as deep reds, maroons, navy, dark green, brown, and turquoise to name a few.  If on the other hand, your flowers are light brown, white, or pastel shades your choices are greater in that you can choose any of the colors above as well as an almost unlimited range of pastels such as pink, light blue, yellow and lavenders.

How to Care For Your Special  Jewelry

You have purchased or been gifted a custom piece of jewelry made from flowers that holds special meaning and memories for you.  The beads are very durable, but in order  to preserve the integrity of your flowers the beads have been air dried and therefore need special care.  In addition, all jewelry is made with a fine quality sterling silver that can tarnish with use.  The following care instructions will help you keep your beads and silver beautiful for years to come.

After wearing your jewlery a few times gently wipe the silver with a polishing cloth.  Always keep your jewelry in the tarnish free plastic pouch provided you when not in use, as this will protect it from the air that causes silver to tarnish.  The black strip of paper provided inside the bag is also designed to keep your silver from tarnishing and will last up to one year.  If you have received a rosary, your black pouch is made from anti tarnish material.  Occasionally, when your jewelry needs further cleaning you can us a silver cleaning solution.  Dip it quickly into the liquid for 30 seconds and then briefly rinse under cool running water.  Pat dry excess water and then complete drying your jewelry with the lowest setting on you hair dryer.  Do not overheat the bead.  Remember the beads are porous and should never be allowed to soak in any liquid.
